Hey, we’re glad you’re checking out our site! We are looking forward to two great weeks of TLC next summer and we’re confident you’re going to love it.

We’ve got a great line-up of speakers who understand the needs and struggles of high school students and know how to communicate in a way that will leave you ready to live the truths you have learned.

Our workshops have again been designed to give you practical, “how to” ministry-related training so that you can go home and start a ministry in your church, youth group, school or community. They will cover a variety of topics that will enable you to develop, improve and expand your ministry leadership skills.

You will join hundreds of students from across the country in high energy, God-centered worship, pointed leadership challenges, one-on-one and small group ministry that is focused on evaluating your leadership skills and your own walk with God and plenty of time to just hang-out with both old and new friends.

You’ll be staying in our college dorms and eating in our cafeteria – which makes camp food look like, well . . . camp food! So make sure you register early so that you can get the week you want. If you are serious about ministry, learning how to lead others and influencing them toward Christ – don’t miss TLC 2010!

Counselor Testimonies

Growing up I had never heard of TLC before. As a teen, I went to Lake Ann Camp or did other various missions trips with my church. The first time I had really heard about TLC was my freshman year back in 2007 when they were asking for people to help counsel. At the time, I was a freshman so I didn’t get the opportunity to counsel that year, but I knew that it would be something that I would like to do in the near future.

As sophomore year came to a close, they again asked for help for counselors for the summer of 2008. I applied and quickly found out that this would be different from camp or any other type of ministry I had helped with in the past. The beginning of the 2008 TLC was a bit nerve wracking for me. I didn’t know what to expect and wasn’t sure if I was cut out for this type of counseling. But by the middle of the first week, I really enjoyed the time that I was spending with my guys. But more importantly, I enjoyed hearing the wisdom and insight they were gain from their workshops and sessions through out the day. At times it was tough, but hearing the testimonies of my guys made the tough times seem worth it.

I enjoyed doing TLC so much that I wanted to do it again in the summer of 2009! Now that I was an experienced veteran, I knew what to expect…or so I thought! Even though I had a better understanding in the area of counseling teenage guys, God used those two weeks to show me areas in my life that I needed to work on and give completely to him. One of these things was my relationship with my brother back home. One of my guys had shared how he so desired to have a better relationship with his younger brother who also was at the conference. The older brother was going off to college and knew that his younger brother was not really passionate about the things of God. He shared how he wanted to have a better relationship with his brother by being a better godly example to him and grow closer in their relationship as brothers. Seeing this desire in one of my guys, God laid it on my heart to share with my brother how I desired to have a better relationship with him as well. My brother and I talked, cried, and laughed together on the phone and from that point on I have a higher view of my younger brother than I ever did before.

Another encouragement was seeing some of the same guys that I counseled in 2008 come again in 2009. What was even more exciting was the fact that they remembered me and still wanted to hang out with me! This was such a blessing to me; knowing that God had allowed me to have such an impact in the lives of these guys to the point that they were texting me as they were pulling in!
In short, I will never forget these moments that I had as a counselor at TLC. Not only did I counsel, but in many ways “I” was counseled through my guys, co-counselors, pastors, youth workers, and the chapel speakers. I am definitely grateful for my counseling experiences at TLC and would not trade them for anything!

ABIGAIL PETERSON
I have been involved with Teen Leadership Conference almost my whole life. When my dad was a pastor, I came as a youth worker’s kid. When my dad started being a main session speaker, I came to hear him preach. Then, when I was old enough, I came as a student. For the past two years I have been involved in several different aspects of TLC. This conference is my favorite two weeks of the whole year! I love having so many people here on campus; to have fun with, sing with, and grow with. This year, for the first time, I was a counselor. I have counseled before at different camps, but this was unlike anything I have ever done. I have never been so stretched, spiritually exposed, and grown like this before. I felt like I was learning just as much as my girls were. Sitting in the sessions and meeting with the youth workers was such an encouragement to me. It was a huge blessing in my life hearing God’s Word three times a day, then meeting with the youth workers and seeing their passion for their students. The second week, one of my girls got saved. It was an awesome experience to watch her life change because of what TLC had exposed in her life. The youth pastor, his wife, and the teens in the youth group were such an encouragement to her. It was an amazing change to watch take place right before me. God used TLC to dramatically change the youth group as a whole, and God used me to play a small part!
