Mel Walker

Mel Walker is the president and is a co-founder of Vision For Youth, Inc., an international network for youth ministry. He is a frequent speaker, both nationally and internationally, at youth, family life and parenting conferences. He has organized and led several regional, statewide and national youth conferences and events – including BBC’s Teen Leadership Conference. He is a graduate of Baptist Bible College (AA & BRE) & Seminary (MMin) in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania and has done graduate work at Iowa State University and Faith Baptist Theological Seminary. He is currently an adjunct instructor at Baptist Bible Seminary.
Mel & his wife, Peggy, are the parents of 3 grown children: Kristi (a missionary in Germany), Todd (a missionary to university students in Michigan), and Travis, along with his wife, Kaci (serving as a youth pastor also in Michigan.) After serving as a youth pastor for several years, he then taught youth ministry courses at Baptist Bible College & Seminary in Clarks Summit, PA and at Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa. Mel then served for 10 years as director of student ministries at Regular Baptist Press and recently published 3 books with RBP on the subjects of youth discipleship, mentoring, and evangelism; 3 booklets with VFY including a devotional strategy for students on developing Biblical convictions – and he co-edited a major anthology of youth ministry from Thomas Nelson Publishers.
