DEFENDER SOCCER CAMP
August 5–10 (for boys and girls Grades 9–12)
Coach Chris Davis has led the women’s soccer program since its beginning in 1993. His team has won six NCCAA II National Championships and qualified for the NCAA III National Championships in 2007. As a skilled coach and motivator, he brings a breadth of knowledge and excitement to the game of soccer. His love of Christ is evident in his ability to use soccer as a means to glorify God.
DAILY DETAILS
Instruction Time
Each morning is designed to improve your skill level. Individual and team concepts are taught with an emphasis on learning through participation. Three full-sized fields will be used, and girls and boys will train at separate fields, except for goalies.
Camp Competitions
7v7 — The afternoon hours are spent in short-field games. Teams will be grouped according to grade and school.
11v11 — Campers from the same school will play together for the full-field games in the evening.
Goalkeeper Training
Under the leadership of John Diven, Defender Soccer Camp also provides specialized training for keepers. They will be assisted by current BBC keepers. Goalkeepers are trained in areas of fitness, agility, technique, foot skills, and tactical awareness. Keepers will have the opportunity to practice their skills during the 7v7 and 11v11 competitions.
Chapel
An important time of Defender Soccer Camp, chapel provides an opportunity for players to learn from God’s Word. We are interested in your relationship with Christ, and our staff will lead in these opportunities for spiritual growth. Informal sharing and singing are also part of this time.
