DEFENDER BASKETBALL CAMP
July 1–6 (for boys Grades 9–12)
The 2011-2012 season marks Coach Mike Show's 18th season as Head Coach of the BBC Defender Basketball team. Coach Show has been named the NCCAA II East Region Coach of the Year seven times, NCCAA II National Coach of the Year for 2006, and NEAC Coach of the Year twice. Under his leadership, the Defenders earned seven NCCAA II East Region Championships, placed in the top four at the NCCAA II National Championships three times, placing as National Runner-Up in the 2005–2006 season. They were the NEAC North Division Champions in 2006-2007, and played in the NCAA Division III National Tournament in 2008. The team made it to the CSAC Semi-Final game in 2009. Intense and enthusiastic, Coach Show practices what he teaches—spiritual growth, character development, attention to detail, and a love for basketball.
INTENSE AND ENTHUSIASTIC
Instruction Time
The critical elements of the game are taught and drilled each morning. Personalized coaching will help improve your skills and techniques. Students from the same school and grade will work together.
Free Throw Shooting
Each camper will shoot 50 free throws during the week and compete against others in the same grade.
Shooting Competitions
There will be daily competitions.
Team Competition
The competition continues as the afternoon and evening hours are filled with full-court games. Two leagues are used for differing ability levels. Players from the same school with similar abilities will be on the same team. Attending guest coaches will coach their players. Friday will be a tournament playoff day.
Chapel
The most important part of each day is spent together in God’s Word. Guest speakers and coaches will challenge each athlete in his walk with Christ. We want to emphasize the importance of a life that glorifies God through athletics.
Coaching Staff
Our staff consists of current and former members of the BBC Defenders and coaches from attending schools.
