Ken has been involved in church planting for over 25 years. As a child of missionaries in Guyana, he helped his dad start new churches. As a college student, he led an inner-city outreach which resulted in a church. As a Baptist Mid-Missions missionary, Ken directed two growing church plants in the African American community in Indianapolis. He has served as chairman of BMM's North American Church Planting Ministry Council and co-founded the School of Church Planting, which has trained over 300 church planters worldwide. Ken came to BBS after serving for 19 years as the missions professor at Baptist Bible College of Indianapolis (now Crossroads Bible College), a school specializing in training leaders to reach multi-ethnic urban America. He has also led mission trips to Guyana, Mexico, and Ghana. A strategist as well as a practitioner, Ken has contributed to "The Practical Guide to Church Planting" and co-authored "The Y-B-H Handbook of Church Planting." Ken completed a Doctor of Ministry in missiology at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in 2013. His major project focused on " The Design of a Church Planting Internship for Seminarians that is Local Church Based and Mentor Led."

With both a passion for and much practical experience in church planting, Ken has a burning desire to equip men to be effective church planters. His particular vision is to reach the ethnic, urban American for Christ and to mobilize harvesters for the unreached peoples of our world.
