Seminary offering free course, preview weekends
Students considering a Seminary education have the opportunity to take a free class in January, a four-day course that pairs with a special preview weekend option.
Emerging Church focus of class
Baptist Bible Seminary is offering "Spotlight on Issues in Theology: An Expose of the Emerging Church" as a free, sample course for students who have not taken a class at BBS before. Other students may take the one-credit class for regular, paid credit.
The course will be held on the Clarks Summit campus January 6-9. It is ideal for pastors, missionaries, and others engaged in full-time professional ministry. It is also appealing to potential Master of Divinity students or others considering an advanced degree.
Taught by Seminary Dean Dr. Mike Stallard, the course highlights the current debate surrounding the emerging church. Dr. Stallard is a nationally recognized scholar and leader.
There is no tuition to audit the class. Books, class notes, and meals are the responsibility of the student. Limited housing at $10 a night is available for those taking the course.
To learn more about the four-day course, call 800.451.2287 or email Paul Golden at pgolden@bbc.edu.
Preview Weekends ahead
The conclusion of the class coincides with the start of a special winter Preview Weekend on January 9-10.
This excellent, focused weekend enables future students to learn what seminary is all about and how BBS can fit in their plans. Visitors have the option of staying for a trip to a local ski resort.
Even better: A $500 scholarship will be applied to the first semester of full-time study for those attending a Preview Weekend.

Preview Weekends will also be held April 17-18 and October 30-31, 2009. The April weekend runs during our annual Church Ministries Conference, a successful time of training and building for church lay leaders and pastors.
All Preview Weekends feature campus and local area tours, classroom observation, Seminary chapel, lunch with Dr. Stallard, and visits with Admissions and Financial Aid representatives.
Our unique Training Timothy Scholarship provides matching funds for up to $12,000 toward a Seminary degree. Learn more here or by calling 800.451.2287.
Baptist Bible Seminary offers students a genuine blend of rigorous academic content and transformational hands-on applications. Five advanced degrees are available in several flexible formats. To learn more, call 800.451.2287 or email pgolden@bbc.edu.
