Dr. Charles Ryrie to speak at BBS

Noted author, theologian, and educator Dr. Charles Ryrie is the featured speaker for the 15th Barndollar Lectureship Series at Baptist Bible Seminary on September 23-25.

The annual event allows BBS students and faculty to meet and interact with well-known, respected theologians and teachers on important theological matters. Lecturers expand students' horizons and stimulate them to dig deeper into the particular theme area.

At BBS, Dr. Ryrie will be speaking on "Contemporary Issues in Grace." He will be presenting three sessions during the Seminary chapels: "Law and Grace," "Polluting the Gospel of Grace," and "Legalism and Grace."

Dr. Ryrie has written more than two dozen books, including the best-selling Ryrie Study Bible. He is professor emeritus and former dean of doctoral studies at Dallas Theological Seminary.

"It is important that people have clarity on the most important area of God's redeeming grace through Christ alone," said Dr. Mike Stallard, BBS Dean.

Pastors and other community members are encouraged to attend Dr. Ryrie's lectures. They begin each morning at 9 a.m. in the Stowell Seminary Building.

The Barndollar Lectureship Series was established in 1993 in memory of W. Walker Barndollar. It honors his years of service to BBC&S as a professor committed to the pursuit of academic excellence. The desire was that Seminary faculty would choose a speaker with academic credibility who could model the finest in English Bible exposition to seminarians.
