Faculty series addresses current issues
Students, staff, and other friends of Baptist Bible Seminary will participate in culturally relevant discussions during the spring semester's Faculty Forums.
The series provides an opportunity for those in attendance to think through various issues they might face in ministry. The 45-minute forums include a 20-minute presentation of a 15-20 page paper followed by an interactive question time. The paper may be purchased at the printing price of $2.
Dr. Rodney Decker will present the first forum. It is entitled "Is That Compass 'Dark' or 'Golden?'" It will address the highly controversial book and movie franchise His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman.
The forum is set for February 4 at 9 a.m. in the Stowell Seminary Building.
Other upcoming faculty forum topics include "Young Evangelicals and Politics" on March 3 and "Evangelical Confusion About Roman Catholicism" on March 31.
For more on the Faculty Forums contact Dr. Howard Bixby at hbixby@bbc.edu or 570.585.9230.
