BBC&S names new Vice President

Ken Shepard, a veteran sales and sports marketing executive, has been named Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Baptist Bible College & Seminary.

In his new role, Shepard will lead and oversee the fundraising, church relations, and marketing and communications functions at the institution. He begins work on October 1.

Shepard is currently owner and president of SAS Sports, an 11-year-old sports marketing and consulting business based in Savannah, Georgia. His involvement in that sector has included time leading minor-league baseball operations in several cities, including Geneva, New York; Prince William, Virginia; and Savannah. He has also built business and marketing plans for successful start-ups in West Palm Beach, Florida; Atlantic City, New Jersey; and Wilmington, Delaware.

The marketing, advertising, and sales expertise, including work in the medical products field, will assist Shepard as he leads a team aimed at building a range of tools at BBC&S – from student scholarships to partnerships with churches and alumni.

“It is truly amazing what God has done in my life to bring me to this point,” Shepard said. “My family and I are very excited to begin serving the Lord at BBC&S and look forward to joining the incredible administrative team.”

Jim Jeffery, President of Baptist Bible College & Seminary, said he is looking forward to working with Shepard.

“Ken’s outgoing personality and ability to work with people, along with his management skills, will make him an asset to Baptist Bible,” Jeffery said.

A Syracuse, New York native, Shepard and his family currently reside in Savannah. The Baptist Bible College & Seminary Board of Trustees approved Shepard’s appointment on Tuesday.

Shepard has a bachelor’s degree from St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida.
