Biblical Apologetics focus of new Seminary degree

Strengthening and equipping pastors and ministry leaders to better understand, articulate, defend, and contextualize the Christian faith in a credible, compassionate, and contemporary manner is the focus of a new degree offered through Baptist Bible Seminary.

The new Master of Arts degree in Biblical Apologetics is a fully accredited, totally online 30-credit hour program. It includes a rich concentration of 15 hours in Bible and theology and 15 hours in specialized apologetic courses. Designed for pastors and ministry leaders, the degree can also serve as academic preparation for more advanced degrees. Students can also transfer directly into the BBS' Master of Divinity program.

Learn more about the degree, go to www.bbc.edu/seminary, email bbsadmissions@bbc.edu, or call 800.451.2287.

Ideal for Current and Future Ministry Leaders
The flexible online format is a fit for a range of students, including pastors and lay leaders, college and career ministry directors, cross-cultural evangelism and missionary practitioners, and more.

"Whether a student is in a college ministry or leading community outreach, this program will equip them to make a powerful difference for Jesus Christ," said BBC Associate Professor Dr. David Mappes, an accomplished teacher, pastor, author, and biblical scholar who heads the new M.A. program.

Courses are fully accessible to students with little or no formal training in theology, philosophy, or biblical studies. Those with formal training in such areas can apply for advanced standing.

Available in a fully integrated online format, students can earn their degree without relocating or leaving their ministry.

Defend the Faith
Students learn to evaluate various apologetic approaches from a comprehensive Christian theological worldview, gaining an awareness of interpretative, theological, and philosophical challenges. The focus is also on learning to formulate biblically correct and culturally sensitive evangelistic methods designed to utilize apologetics.

Graduates of the program will be better prepared to interact and respond to current cultural, theological and interpretive challenges as they serve, lead, and their world. They will also be better equipped to implement effective apologetic strategies within a local church or in other ministry settings.

Competitively priced, the M.A. degree can be completed in two years or less.

Baptist Bible Seminary offers students a genuine blend of rigorous academic content and transformational hands-on applications. Five advanced degrees are available in several flexible formats.
