Special workshops, speakers featured at Church Ministries Conference

CMC
Nearly four dozen workshops and two dozen speakers are featured at Baptist Bible College & Seminary's 2010 Church Ministries Conference, an annual event that draws hundreds of attendees to the Clarks Summit, PA, campus.

The two-day conference will be held Friday, April 16 and Saturday, April 17, 2010. The sessions and other opportunities will enhance the ministry of anyone who serves in a local church.

Workshops during the third annual conference focus on children, youth, adult, general, and outreach ministries, and more. Special sessions on leadership are also set with BBC&S President Jim Jeffery and Dr. Steve Viars of Faith Baptist Church in Lafayette, IN.

Targeted sessions
Dr. Steve Viars, the 2010 keynote speaker, leads a growing, dynamic church. His gifted teaching ministry, enthusiasm for the Word of God, and organizational skills are instrumental in equipping Faith Baptist and all of its ministries. He has overseen all of Faith's ministries since 1996 and has served on its staff since 1987.

Speakers from academia, ministry organizations and the pastorate will lead sessions. Workshops are geared toward anyone involved in church work and volunteering. This includes teachers, greeters, counselors, youth leaders and seniors.

Workshop sessions feature tools, ideas and lessons applicable to all church ministries. The sessions are designed to be highly interactive to meet unique needs and situations faced by those in attendance. Topics include leading groups, public speaking, financial management, and discipleship.

Over 300 pastors and church workers attended the first two Church Ministries Conference events in 2008 and 2009. Nearly 50 churches were represented.
