Council, lecture series this month at BBS
Two events at Baptist Bible Seminary in September offer students and pastors unique opportunities to interact with and learn from theologians and ministry professionals.
The second annual Council on Dispensational Hermeneutics will take place at BBS September 23-24. It coincides with the Barndollar Lectureship Series held September 21-24.
Chapel services each morning during the week will feature Dr. Elliott E. Johnson, speaker for the lecture series.

Council on Dispensational Hermeneutics
The Council brings traditional dispensational scholars together to discuss various theological issues, produce literature from a dispensational viewpoint, and work to raise the level of scholarship currently associated with traditional dispensational theology.

The theme of the discussion for this year is "The Dispensational Understanding of the New Covenant."
Seminary Dean Dr. Michael Stallard, organizer of the Council, has seen some excitement among traditional dispensationalists over the 2008 gathering as well as this year's event. Many have voiced a desire to become involved, he said.
He and the Council plan to have material related to discussions published in the future. Statements and other materials from the 2008 Council are available at www.bbc.edu/council.
Barndollar Lectureship Series
This annual series gives students, faculty, and others the opportunity to meet and learn from respected theologians who are well known for their expertise in Bible exposition.
This year's speaker, Dr. Elliott E. Johnson is founder of the Asian Theological Seminary and Professor of Biblical Exposition at Dallas Theological Seminary since 1972.
Lectures will be held each morning at 9 a.m. in the Stowell Seminary Building. Pastors and other community members are invited to attend at no cost.

Dr. Johnson's ministry experience includes teaching and serving in many countries around the world. He is also a member of the Evangelical Theological Society.
The series was established in 1993 in honor of Dr. W. Walker Barndollar who served at BBC&S from 1947 until he retired in 1969.
