Learning Contract

Among the unique ingredients of the BBS Doctor of Ministry program is the learning contract. It is utilized with each seminar or independent study.

The learning contract is designed by you with the assistance of the seminar professor. It becomes the blueprint for learning and is followed in applying the seminar content and in writing the seminar project.

You will be given instruction in the use of the learning contract in a one-week online session.

The learning contract outlines what you want to learn and accomplish. It gives you the power and opportunity to decide the focus of further development of the course materials and the work submitted for class.

You will accomplish your ministry goals while completing your degree.

Dissertation Project

Your dissertation can be written according to the purpose and nature of your specific ministry. Special exceptions can be made by the Program Director depending on your setting.

Examples include:

• Ministry Analysis Dissertation Project: Allows you to analyze, evaluate, and improve a strategic ministry within your general area of ministry.
• Educational Program Dissertation Project: Allows you to develop curriculum for your ministry setting.
• Training Manual Dissertation Project: Allows you to develop a training manual for your ministry setting.
• Writing Project Format Dissertation Project: Allows you to develop a topic for publication.
• All dissertation projects include a review of existing literature on the topic.
