BBS » Admissions
International students from around the world are studying at BBS, and our graduates are serving in ministries across the globe. BBS gives you the theological strength and biblical training you need to effectively minister to your home ministry, wherever that may be.
We encourage you to apply to BBS if:
- You are a qualified international student.
- You have a financial guarantor in the United States and can show sufficient evidence of a responsible means of support for travel expenses for attendance at the Seminary.
International Student Process
It is important to understand and complete the student visa process before you begin studying. It is difficult for non-immigrant students to receive permission for off-campus employment during their first year in the United States. You should not prepare to arrive in the U.S. until you have been granted final acceptance. Applicants arriving without means of support and a student visa are normally deported and not eligible for readmission to the U.S.
All international applicants must, upon request, submit a catalog of the school from which they received an undergraduate degree. If you hold an advanced degree, you should provide full information on your programs of study.
If English is your second language, you must complete the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). It is your responsibility to schedule and complete this examination by contacting:
Educational Testing Service
Princeton, NJ 08540
An alternative examination in English as a second language is available from the University of Michigan. The testing organization should send the results directly to Baptist Bible Seminary. BBS reserves the right to require further language study before granting graduation qualification.
Please submit a statement from your national church that endorses your educational plans as necessary preparation for church leadership. You must also provide evidence that such theological education is not available to you in your home country.
Baptist Bible Seminary admits students of any race, color, national, and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities made available to students at the school. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin, or physical handicap in administration of educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, athletics, and other administered programs.
