Bible Conference, Homecoming, Parents Day offer celebrations, activities

The first full week of October will be a week full of special gatherings and unique events at Baptist Bible College & Seminary.

Many encouraging Bible Conference and Alumni activities are set on campus beginning Tuesday, October 7. Parents Day is on Saturday, October 11.

Bible Conference
The theme for this year's Bible Conference - "No Reserves. No Retreats. No Regrets." - comes from the words of William Borden. Heir to the dairy fortune with his family's now-famous name, Borden decided in college to commit his life to Christian service.

He aimed for missions work after graduating from Princeton Seminary in NJ. His time in service was short - he contracted spinal meningitis in Egypt, where he had stopped to study Arabic, and died at age 25 - but his example and choices are still influential today.

Homecoming
Special alumni activities will be held throughout the week. Highlights include Alumni Reflections on October 10, a time of honoring three Godly servants who have recently retired from BBC&S after many years of service -- Jim Huckaby, Fredie Loescher and David McClain. Five members of the BBC&S Alumni family will also be honored with special awards at Alumni Homecoming Banquet later that day.

Parents Day
Students and their parents will spend some special time together at Baptist Bible College's annual Parents Day. The program includes skits, student and alumni testimonies, musical performances, and the presentation of the Homecoming Court. BBC&S President Jim Jeffery will also speak during the program.

The idea is to allow the parents of new students to get to know BBC and its traditions and welcome them to the family. The day also gives alumni and parents who already know the College a chance to reminisce.
