Golf-a-thon set to raise money for students
Friends of Baptist Bible College & Seminary will support students and enjoy over 100 holes of golf at the fourth annual Golf-a-thon.
The event will be held Thursday, May 15 at Stone Hedge Golf Course in Tunkhannock, PA. Nearly 40 golfers are already set to participate in this year's event.
The marathon-type Golf-a-thon is designed to provide scholarship dollars for students. Each year, BBC reduces the up-front cost for each student by over $3,000.
Nearly $500,000 was raised for students in the first three events. So far this year, the Golf-a-thon has raised more than $32,000 of the $100,000 goal.
The 2008 event is still open to sponsors and players. For details, contact Lisa Konzelman at 570.430.5597 or at golfathon@bbc.edu. A special event page is online at www.bbc.edu/golfathon .
A Pre-Event Celebration precedes the Golf-a-thon Wednesday night at the Phelps Student Center on campus. An Awards Dinner will be held Thursday night at The Inn at Nichols Village.
