Friedie Loescher honored with first BBC&S bobblehead
A long-time leader at Baptist Bible College & Seminary is being honored with the first bobblehead in school history.
The model of Dr. Friedie Loescher, currently Vice President for Student Development, is available for a minimum donation of $25. The money raised will fund student scholarships.
Dr. Loescher is a 1959 graduate of BBC. He has worked under five presidents since returning to campus in 1965 and has been involved in leading about 100 resident directors and mentoring more than 1,000 resident assistants.
The bobblehead shows a smiling Dr. Loescher carrying a BBC&S pennant, wearing an "I (heart) Alums" sweater, and standing behind a sign marked with "All your anxiety, All your care," a song he often sings with students assembled for weekly Communications Hour time.
The BBC&S alumni council decided on Dr. Loescher because of his deep attention to students and his years of service.
"For many people, Friedie is Baptist Bible College & Seminary," said Mark Steckiel, Director of Alumni and Church Relations. "He loves students and alumni. This effort, with donations all going to student scholarships, ties those two together well."
Quantities of the bobblehead are limited. Details on donating and receiving a bobblehead are available here.
BBC&S alumni who take their bobbleheads on the road with them are sharing their pictures online. Details on "Friedie Around the World" are available here.
