Competition set to showcase amateur films

Baptist Bible College students, staff and faculty will display their amateur films next month. Real to Reel, the 2008 BBC Film Competition, will be held Friday, April 18.

Participants submit original, completed films of five minutes or less in any genre. Students then choose the best film in both the BBC student and non-student categories. Prizes are awarded for best films and other categories.

The deadline for submission is Monday, April 14.

Jonathan and Rachel Strayer, longtime friends of the arts at BBC and founders of Ghostlight Theatrical Ministries, will host the evening.

The event will be held in the Phelps Student Center Cafetorium. Admission is $1.

Two of last year's submissions can be viewed on YouTube.com.
Kevin Root's film brings meaning to a host of meaningless objects. Click here to watch The Attack of the Killer Duck, Pumpkin Basket, and Tabasco Sauce.

Mike Morter and Eric Shellner's film is a compelling docu-drama chronicling the courtship patterns of BBC students. Click here to view BBC Dating.
