New location marks Winter Concert

Special performances and a carol sing-a-long will highlight Baptist Bible College’s annual Winter Concert, which will be held for the first time in Murphy Memorial Library.

Six unique ensembles will perform at this year’s concert. Performers include BBC students, staff and faculty and members from the community.

Performances will be December 7 and 8 at 7:30 p.m. A special reception for dessert ticket-holders begins at 6:30 p.m.

The concert, themed Laudate Dominum, will be held in BBC’s library. The theme was taken from the Latin inscriptions that adorn the library and mean “Praise the Lord.”

The library was first built as a chapel in 1929. The chapel was designed to resemble a cross.

“The chapel was originally constructed to glorify God, both in function and design,” said Music Department Chairman Dr. Gordon Mason. “It will be exciting to see it being used for the same purpose again.”

Dessert and concert tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults. Performance only tickets are $3 for students and $7 for adults. For details, contact Ronda Dreyer at 570.585.9295 or rdreyer@bbc.edu.
