Parents Day anchors Homecoming events
Students and their parents will spend some special time together at Baptist Bible College’s annual Parents Day.
The event is among a series of Homecoming and Alumni activities, many of which highlight the 75th anniversary of BBC&S. This year’s Homecoming theme, “Our Family Reunion,” was chosen to commemorate the anniversary.
Each residence hall is preparing activities and concessions that reflect a particular decade, spanning the life of BBC&S. Activities include old-time photos, apple bobbing, 80s trivia and a dunk tank.
The Parents Day program includes skits, student and alumni testimonies, musical performances, trivia and the presentation of the Homecoming Court. President Jeffery will also speak during the program.
“The idea is to allow the parents of new students to get to know BBC and its traditions and welcome them to the family,” says Student Activities Coordinator Anna Doenier. “We also want to give alumni and those parents who already know us a chance to reminisce.”
Alumni activities include a time of reflection and praise, the Alumni Kiosk dedication, a banquet and the Athletics Hall of Honor Breakfast. The classes of '47, '57, '67, '77, '82, '87, '97 and '02 will be honored at the Alumni Banquet.
The men and women’s soccer and cross country teams, as well as the women’s volleyball team, have athletic contests throughout the day.
