Quenched
The first annual Girls’ Nite Out Conference will allow female students, friends from the community, and staff and faculty members an opportunity to learn more about God and foster meaningful relationships.
The conference, themed Quenched, will be held Friday and Saturday, October 5–6. The theme is based on John 4:13–14 “Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."
“We want to encourage young women to develop deeper relationships with God, with each other and with older women who can mentor them,” said event coordinator Beth Alt. “Some mothers will even be coming in to attend with their daughters.”
Joanna Arp and Sherrie Holloway will be the speakers for the two main sessions. Mrs. Arp’s message is entitled “Come Thirsty.” Ms. Holloway’s message is entitled “Drink Deeply.”
The girls will participate in several workshops such as “Relationships” and “Walking With the Shepherd Through College & Beyond.” Other activities will include an ice cream party and volleyball.
A second conference is being planned for next fall.
For registration and scheduling information contact Beth Alt at balt@bbc.edu or at 570.585.9271.
