Pray Outside the Box
Day of Prayer 2007 was held on Tuesday, February 27. It was an opportunity for Baptist Bible College students to “Pray Outside the Box.” The Day of Prayer was a chance for them to spend time in prayer and worship.
Monday night began the event with a “library kick-off” of worship. Students came to the library at 9:30 p.m. for a unique opportunity to sing in Murphy Memorial Library’s converted sanctuary.
Tuesday started with breakfast in the dorms followed by a corporate session led by President Jeffery. Students then had the chance for personal prayer in small groups. Dr. King led the final corporate session. After lunch, students had the option to attend “The Prayer Experience,” a time devoted to learning various ways to pray.
Brian Wilbert, Vice President of Student Leadership Council (SLC), is the head of the Day of Prayer committee. He believes this particular day is important “because it provides a time of solitude in which students can focus minds, hearts, and souls on God and God alone.”
SLC desired through the Day of Prayer to provide a day for the entire College family to communicate with our God. Students were encouraged to stop being “boxed in” and learn to “Pray Outside the Box.”
