Art Communicates!

Art Communicates!

Art Communicates!Artwork produced by nearly 25 students was showcased in Baptist Bible College’s Jackson Hall last week as part of the Art Communicates! events sponsored by the Communications Department. The department hosts the event to provide a venue for students at Baptist Bible to share their artwork with others. Members of the department wish to encourage students in their artwork as a means of expressing their individual gifts from God.

On December 2, the rotunda of Jackson Hall was converted into a one-week exhibit hall to display visual art of different mediums. Students submitted various pieces including pottery, photography, drawings, and mixed-medium works.

Last week hosted only the first installment of this year's Art Communicates! events. Art Communicates! has been a one-week event in past years, but this year, it has been divided into three separate events and spread throughout the year.

Last week’s event will be supplemented with an Original Writing Open Mic. Students, faculty, and staff will gather to share their original written works in the Underground Cafe in front of a live audience of other writers as well as those stopping by for a drink. The event is currently scheduled for February 2.

A Night on Broadway is expected to be as popular an event this year as it was last year. Student and faculty members prepare scenes and songs from Broadway musicals and perform them for an audience in the rotunda of Jackson Hall. Though the exact date for the event is not yet set, it is scheduled to be held sometime in April.
