Rock Solid Weekend

Labor Day Events

Baptist Bible College & Seminary hosted numerous annual events that brought with them a great deal of excitement and encouragement.

The annual Bible Conference began on Tuesday, September 3, and continued through Friday, September 6, and featured BBC’s own Dr. Chuck Emert as well as Senior Pastor Dr. Don Shirk of Grace Baptist Church in Batavia, New York. Dr. Wendell Kempton and President Jim Jeffery concluded the conference on Friday morning. The conference was built around the theme, “Rock Solid Faith.” Workshops accompanied the morning sessions on Wednesday and Thursday for all who wished to participate.

Many past graduates of BBC&S arrived to participate in the Alumni Week activities which included a lunch buffet on Friday followed by a time of praise and sharing and informal fellowship. The Alumni banquet was held Friday night at 5:30 in the Phelps Student Center gymnasium.

Saturday's events started with a noteworthy event. The Inaugural Hall of Honor Induction Ceremony took place at the Athletic Reunion brunch in the Phelps Student Center cafeteria at 9:00 a.m. Dr. Wendell Kempton was introduced as the first inductee into the Hall of Honor, which seeks to give honor to whom honor is due (Romans 13:7).

Saturday also included a host of campus-wide activities. All alumni were invited to join in the Homecoming Cross Country Meet. The women's race was fired off at 10:30, followed by the men at 11:30. Select alumni teams were chosen to meet-up against the Defender men's and women's soccer and women's volleyball teams following the cross country meet. The Homecoming events concluded with the Parents' Day program on Saturday night at 7:30.
