LAUNCH focuses junior highers on life's tough questions

More than 50 junior highers, youth workers, and staff members participated in a special July week of learning, mixing fun activities and spiritual formation for a week on the BBC campus.

BBC&SLAUNCH provided a life-changing experience for seventh and eighth graders, with a focus on answering life's tough questions and building a foundation for leadership.

"I liked all the music and the sessions and the games," said Hannah Strawderman, a seventh-grade student from Coudersport, PA. "I learned how to face sins and fears and how to get over them."

Zian Burrous, from Galeton, PA, and also in seventh grade, agreed.

"I really liked the week," she said. "I liked the games and the sessions and the counselors. I learned how to do devotions and what to do when you sin."

A Powerful Week
Led by youth ministry veteran Dwight Peterson of BBC, students grow through individual devotional times, general sessions, and relationships with counselors and new friends.

Each day was focused on thinking through critical questions facing junior high students today:
- How do I know God loves me?
- How do I know I'm saved?
- What do I do when I sin?
- Can I make a difference?

"I liked doing all the activities, especially ultimate dodgeball," said Noah Wiedman, an eighth-grade student from Shiremanstown, PA. "My favorite session was "How do I know I'm saved." I learned to be a better leader for younger people."
