Men's Conference kicks off summer on campus

A focus on the voice of God in the difficult areas of life was the theme of this year's 'Men's Conference, a special time of encouragement at BBC&S.

The May 15-17 event -- carrying the theme "You Have Questions? God Has Answers!" -- kicked off the summer camp and conference season on campus. More than 3,000 people will attend programs for men, women, youth, and sports-focused camps.

The annual retreat-style Men's Conference drew more than 130 from several states. It included general sessions, hands-on workshops, and more.

"I enjoy the fellowship among other godly men, helping us grow in our spiritual walk with Christ. And I enjoy the sessions," said Kevin Mills from Springtown, PA.

Brian Makus of Franklin Lakes, NJ, agreed.

"This event has had a profound effect on my spiritual life," he said. "Meeting the men and the professors here has really taught me to think more about my responsibility as a husband and father. I don't think I would be the man I am today if it hadn't been for some of the lessons that I learned here."

BBC&SPastor Bob Kadlecik (BBC, 93; BBS, 96) was the keynote speaker for the conference. He has served at Bridgewater Baptist Church in Montrose, PA, for the past 18 years, and has been the Lead Pastor since 2005.

The general sessions examined the circumstances and responsibilities in life that raise questions, demand solutions, and ultimately find answers from God's voice through His Word. Conference workshops delved into the Bible to answer questions that are asked within the hardships of the Christian walk.

The next Men’s Conference, with the theme “Shoot Out at the OK Plateau,” will be held May 14–16, 2015.

Other events this summer include the LYFE Women's Conference, LAUNCH, Teen Leadership Conference, and Volunteers Week. Five different sports camps offer athletic training and spiritual instruction for athletes of all ages. The Big Blue and Defender sports camps develop athletic and leadership skills as well as build character and sportsmanship. Sports camps are open for students from kindergarten through high school.
