Volunteers Week offers a time of fun and service

Campus improvements and beautification are the focus of a special week for volunteers this summer at BBC&S.

Volunteers Week is set for July 13-19. It offers a mix of hands-on service with an inexpensive and fun vacation. It is an attractive option for many individuals and families. Those attending enjoy making new friends, hearing special speakers, and reconnecting as they serve together.

BBC&SSpecial Projects
Many areas of need on campus are taken care of each year during this special week. Some jobs involve specialized skills; others simply require a willing spirit.

Among the work being handled this year is the renovation of two residence halls.

"We really like it because we get to minister and meet new people," said Becky Paulhamus of Jersey Shore, PA, who participated in 2013. "It's like church camp for adults. It's fun. We look forward to seeing the friends we met here every year."

The cost is $25 per person for an entire week of meals. Housing is free. Childcare is available in the mornings as well as organized activities for ages 11 and under. Facilities, such as, the Recreation Center, the library, walking trails, the Underground Cafe, and the game room, are available.

Volunteers offer a special blessing to the BBC&S maintenance team as they work to complete a wide variety of projects across campus throughout the summer.
