Students, staff spring into action during Campus Appreciation Day
Students, faculty, and staff participated in BBC&S' annual Campus Appreciation Day on Tuesday, April 24, with projects ranging from mulching and raking to cleaning and the painting of a special mural in the Murphy Memorial Library.
After starting the day with prayer, participants headed to work -- many into cold and windy weather outside. Hats, gloves, and multiple layers were the order of the day for those picking up shovels and wheelbarrows.
The help was welcome and made a real difference across campus, said Wayne Stevens, BBC&S' Director of Facilities.
"We would never be able to have the campus looking so well groomed for graduation and the summer ministries," he said. "I am so thankful for the faculty, staff, and students who participate on this day."

The mural in the library will be finished later, said Jeremy McGinniss, BBC&S' Library Director. The end result will show a path with people on it representing the idea that life is a journey and learning is a process.
Other projects during the day included pulling weeds across campus, wood-chipping branches to spread across the Creation Walk around the pond, and picking up trash, twigs, and branches. Inside, workers cleaned a science lab, the stage area, and a maintenance storage loft.
"I think someone driving by would have an interesting view of our students scattered across campus, working together," said Laura Moore, BBC&S' Social Media & Web Content Manager.
