Alumni scholarship provides assistance, honors Ken and Eleanor Mosher
The "Ken & Eleanor Mosher Alumni Scholarship" provides financial assistance opportunities for alumni and their family members while remembering the long-time friends of many former students.
The faithful and outstanding service to BBC&S by Ken and Eleanor Mosher is recognized by the Alumni Association through the scholarship which was named in their honor in 2014.
For most of four decades—from the late 1960s into the early 2000s— the Moshers made an incredible impact on hundreds of students at BBC&S. From their ministry in residence halls (both Ridley Hall and Nordling Hall) to their respective roles in many capacities in student development, "Coachie" and Eleanor invested their lives in students.
Ken and Eleanor were blessed to have a loving and devoted family—many of whom are alumni and friends of BBC&S. Mrs. Mosher died in 2014 following a brief illness.
"I had the privilege of living in their dorm and continue to be a friend of their entire family," said Mel Walker, Vice President of Communications & External Relations. "They loved BBC and gave their lives to be an encouragement to others. Their home on campus was continually open to students and they both lived their lives as prayer warriors for the current students and for many, many former students. It seemed so natural for the BBC&S Alumni Association to name this scholarship for students in their honor."
This special scholarship is awarded each year to select current students who are the descendants of former BBC&S students. The Alumni Merit Scholarship is also given annually to current students who are recommended for this scholarship by BBC&S alumni.
"Our family is deeply humbled and grateful for this honor," said daughter Sharon Wilson. "I know Dad continues to pray daily for alumni, staff, and students. On behalf of the entire Mosher family, we want to express our thankfulness to the Alumni Association for naming this scholarship in honor of our parents."
Details about the scholarship are available online at www.bbc.edu/alumni in the Constitution and Bylaws area of the Alumni Association section of the site. Both scholarships are funded by contributions from BBC&S alumni and other interested donors.
