Spring Concert set for April 4-5
Continuing its tradition of excellence, the BBC Department of Music is preparing to present powerful Spring Concert performances next month.
Concerts are set for Friday, April 4 at 8 p.m., and Saturday, April 5 at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. The Murphy Memorial Library in Jackson Hall, with its unique acoustic qualities, is the venue for the concerts.
Reserved tickets are $5 each and are on sale now.

The Concert Chorale, Chamber Singers, as well as faculty and staff vocalists and instrumentalists will perform a variety of pieces. Selections will include
a mixture of hymns, spirituals, and gospel arrangements including "I Got A Key," Keith Hampton's ever-popular "True Light (This Little Light of Mine)," and "How Great Thou Art," arranged by the award-winning Dan Forrest.
Other selections include "A Mighty Fortress," from the acclaimed A Capella Project by Bob Kauflin and Joan Coates, and "O Be Joyful (Psalm 100)," from the Psalmfest collection by British composer John Rutter.
A centerpiece of the concert is Pierre Sancan's "Sonatine for Flute and Piano," performed by BBC senior Alyssa Pyne and Professor Dr. Larry Kauffman, Chair of Music Department.
Both the Concert Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Kauffman, and Chamber Singers, under the direction of Dr. David Harris, travel widely for performances across the United States. Additionally, Chamber Singers has made visits to the Philippines, Ireland, Jamaica, and South Africa.
BBC's Department of Music prepares students for a wide range of careers, including music education and church music ministry. Graduates are serving in churches, public schools, Christian schools, and in locations worldwide.
Many graduates have become private studio teachers, professional conference musicians, and conductors and composers. Others are teaching in schools or and many have continued their education at prestigious graduate schools across the country.
