President's Breakfast, Leadership Seminar set for March 27
BBC&S' annual President's Breakfast and Leadership Seminar, a special opportunity to network with friends and other community leaders, is set for March 27.
The morning program is a dedicated time for those in attendance to talk with President Jim Jeffery, meet students, and gain leadership insights.
The program begins at 7:45 a.m. There is no cost to attend the breakfast or the seminar but pre-registration is required.
Details and registration information is online at online at www.bbc.edu/breakfast.
The featured speaker for the breakfast is Jesse Ergott, President and CEO of NeighborWorks Northeastern Pennsylvania. Jesse has served in the community development field for over 10 years. He has used his community planning background on many different types of initiatives, including environmental and conservation projects, educational programming, historic preservation efforts, and the promotion of regional tourism.
Jesse chairs the Lackawanna County Housing Collaborative, is active in his local church, and was selected as the National NeighborWorks Association's 2012 National Emerging Leader of the Year.
NeighborWorks Northeastern Pennsylvania implements creative and successful homeownership programs in Scranton, Lackawanna County, and Northeastern Pennsylvania. It was named "Non-Profit Organization of the Year" at the recent Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce SAGE Awards.
The event will conclude around 9 a.m. It will be held in the Baptist Bible Seminary building, located off Venard Road and west of the main BBC entrance.
An interactive seminar designed to equip leaders to learn better through more productive conversations follows the President's Breakfast and begins at 9:15 a.m.
"Ask Like You Want to Know: Key Action Steps to Meaningful Conversations" will be led by Ken Knelly, Executive Director of Communications & Marketing at BBC&S. A former award-winning journalist, Ken is an active leader with a range of community organizations.
In this powerful session, participants will learn how to gather the information they need, get to the heart of knowing, and quickly gain actionable intelligence.
"Ken brings professionalism and enthusiasm to everything he works on," said Nicole Barber Morristell, Director of Leadership Lackawanna. "His workshops are enjoyable, successful, and full of great takeaways. I always leave wanting to know more."
