Campus Appreciation Day mixes fun, hard work
BBC&S students, faculty, and staff participated in the annual spring Campus Appreciation Day on Tuesday, April 16, a focused time to assist the Maintenance Department with various clean-up and beautification tasks.
After starting the day with prayer, participants divided into groups led by faculty and staff members. Ross Janowski of the maintenance staff appreciated the effort.
"We would never be able to do all this without them," he said.

Mulching, weeding, and planting were among jobs completed. In addition to working together, students were also able to enjoy one-on-one time with faculty and staff.
"I really enjoyed Campus Appreciation Day," said Hannah Owens, a junior Counseling major from Montrose, PA. "It was a great opportunity to work alongside others and show our appreciation for the campus. The college does so much for us, and this was a great chance to give back and show our thankfulness for all BBC does."
The Underground Cafe got a deep cleaning as newly hired student workers were able to come together, work, and develop relationships. The team also brainstormed ideas for the upcoming year.
"New people were partnered with old workers, so it gave us the chance to get to know each other more," said Abbey Woudenburg, a junior Communications major from Prattsburgh, NY.
Despite some clouds, the weather was perfect for Campus Appreciation Day. The event ended with a prayer and worship time around the anchor at the Defender soccer field to celebrate the success of the day.
