Alumni recognized during 'Celebration' weekend
Alumni award recipients were recognized for their dedication and distinguished service for Christ during BBC&S' October 12-13 'Celebration on the Summit' weekend.
Awards for Alumnus of the Year and Outstanding Service were given. Those being honored were presented with plaques during a special Bible Conference session.
Award recipients were selected by the Alumni Executive Council with help from other BBC&S alumni.

Alumnus of the Year
The Alumnus of the Year recipient, Dr. Jim Showers, is Executive Director of The Friends of Israel, a worldwide Christian organization focused on advancing support of Israel, the Jewish people, and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Jim's personal warmth, knowledge, and wisdom, as well as his devotion to the Lord and sincere love for Israel and the Jewish people, are qualities everyone at The Friends of Israel has valued.
Dr. Showers speaks at conferences, churches, and schools nationwide. He earned both his Master of Divinity ('95) and Doctor of Ministry ('07) degrees from Baptist Bible Seminary. He and his wife, Diane, live in southern New Jersey and have two married children.
The Alumnus of the Year award is given to graduates who have completed at least 10 years of Christian service in their profession and have rendered distinguished service to BBC&S. Additionally, recipients display a daily lifestyle that honors Christ and seek to develop the life of Christ in others.
Outstanding Service Awards
Five individuals were recognized with Outstanding Service Awards, which are given annually to graduates of Baptist Bible College or Seminary who have maintained a relationship with BBC&S for at least 10 years. Recipients seek to honor Christ through their lives and be dedicated to developing Christ-likeness in others.
Rev. Doug Boisvert (BBS, '82 and '11) and Mrs. Cheryl Boisvert ('80) work together in a program called Mobile Modular Ministry, which provides training for local church leaders in Africa. They are currently assisting the development of local training programs in Uganda, western Kenya, and Tanzania.
Pastor Patrick McGoldrick graduated from BBC with a major in Pastoral Studies in 1988. He then earned a Master of Divinity at BBS in 1992.
Patrick has always loved the local church and teens. He served as a youth pastor for 20 years in Kentucky, Illinois, and Michigan. He was recently diagnosed with ALS, or Lou Gehrig's disease. Believing God ordained this path for him, he daily seeks to bring Christ honor by focusing on biblical truths and encouraging others through writing. Follow Patrick's story at www.patricksstory.com.
Sue Lodico (BBC, '83) serves as a Church Planter's Assistant in Durban, South Africa. She has worked in Christian schools in Pennsylvania and Michigan as a teacher and coach. She also served as a to missionary to Recife, Brazil for four years, and then in Sao Paulo, Brazil for eight years.
Sgt. George Peach (BBC, '84) serves in the Pennsylvania State Police's Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Domestic Security Division. He is a founding member of Lebanon Area Evangelical Free Church, where he has served in a variety of roles including leading small groups, teaching Sunday school, giving pre-marital counseling, leading prayer groups, and coaching the church's softball team. He also speaks to Christian schools, youth groups, and civic groups.
Celebration on the Summit draws hundreds of alumni, parents, supporters, and other members of the BBC&S family to campus each year.
Alumni Day offered special events to give visiting alumni connection points, including the awards presentation, an Alumni Meet and Greet, a special evening event featuring comedian Kerri Pomarolli, and spectacular fireworks display.
