October 'Celebration' highlights connections, entertainment
Family entertainment and alumni and homecoming events are highlights of BBC&S' annual "Celebration on the Summit" in October.
Most events are set for the weekend of October 12-13. This year's Bible Conference on the minor prophets, which runs with Celebration, is set for October 1-12.

Last year's Celebration event packed the BBC&S campus. The 2012 lineup brings back popular features and includes a special Friday night appearance by Kerri Pomarolli, a nationally known actress, comedian, and writer.
Alumni Day -- Friday, October 12
The day includes some favorite offerings for former students -- an alumni Meet & Greet and class reunions.
Before the closing fireworks display, Kerri Pomarolli brings her unique brand of humor to the BBC&S stage. An award-winning columnist and contributor to national magazines, Pomarolli is also the author of a popular new book, "Guys Like Girls Named Jennie."

Tickets are $10 each in advance and available on the Celebration website. Tickets are $15 each the day of the event.
The special day also includes recognition of Alumni Awards and testimonies, as well as a Chamber Singers reunion.
Homecoming & Family Day -- Saturday, October 13
Saturday includes the best of homecoming reunions and athletics.
A three-mile Family Fun Run on the BBC course and the traditional "Big Tent" setups, with student residence halls and organizations offering a mix of food and beverage tables, are planned.
Defenders and Lady Defenders soccer and volleyball games are also set, with special recognition of parents and an evening Family Day program.
An open house for the new student recreational facility, which will include a climbing wall, indoor running track, new offices, cardio and weight room areas, and much more, will be held at 10 a.m.
Bible Conference -- Monday, October 1 to Friday, October 12
"Major Lessons from the Minor Prophets" is the theme for this year's conference focusing on the 12 Old Testament books known as the minor prophets. Sessions run across the two weeks at various times.
This special look into the books of Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi enables those in attendance to rediscover truths that can be applied to their life as they serve and lead others.
Featured speakers include Larry Green, Senior Pastor/Lead Elder at Cedar Hill Baptist Church in Cleveland Heights, OH; David Hixson, Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Sandusky, OH; Jim Murphy, Head Pastor at First Baptist Church of Johnson City, NY; and David Whiting, Lead Pastor at Northridge Church in Rochester, NY. BBC Professor Tom Cragoe, BBS Associate Professor Mark McGinniss, Vice President and Provost Jim Lytle, and President Jim Jeffery will also speak.
