GARBC event wraps up at BBC&S

More than 800 people attended the 2012 General Association of Regular Baptist Churches Conference, an event held for the first time on the BBC&S campus.

"Authentic Church," the theme for the 2012 event, ran the last week of June and included special speakers, workshops, receptions, a family picnic, activities for youth, and formal business for the national fellowship of churches.

BBC&S"There were so many positives to having the conference (at BBC&S)," said Michael Nolan, Director of Business Administration for the GARBC. "Having a place that is so conducive to learning, where everything is close and already geared toward community was great. That's what the GARBC is all about. The classrooms for workshops and practice rooms for students were been perfect. The Pennsylvania weather was gorgeous. It was a good, rich, family atmosphere and it was a pleasure."

The GARBC is a fellowship of more than 1,200 churches across the country. Its ministries include Regular Baptist Press, international partnerships, Baptist Builders Club, the GARBC Chaplaincy Ministries, and Talents For Christ.

More than 25 states and several nations were represented among those in attendance at the event.

- Steve Olsen, Pastor of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Smithville, OH
- Bill Park, Veteran pastor and adjunct professor at Calvary Baptist Seminary in Lansdale, PA

"Baptist Bible College and Seminary was an incredible host facility," said Andrea Gower, who served as the conference coordinator. "The staff was welcoming and attentive to the needs of the guest."
