LYFE Women's Conference marks 30th year
Nearly 900 women attended the LYFE Women's Conference in June at BBC, a powerful time of reunions, spiritual refreshment, and personal growth that marked its 30th year with the 2012 edition.
Carrying the theme "Impressions: We are all flawed women loved by a flawless God," the event was focused on a single weekend this year rather than over two. Those in attendance were moved through the words of best-selling author Liz Curtis Higgs, who served as the special keynote speaker. She was joined by recording artist Damaris Carbaugh, the 321 Improv Comedy group, and numerous workshop presenters and speakers.
"We come to LYFE because the fellowship is wonderful and we love the speakers," said Sharman Frisino of Albany, NY. "Everything is very uplifting and it is very well organized."

The 2013 LYFE Women's Conference, themed "Simply Living," will be held June 6-8. The featured speaker will be Sherrie Holloway, a dynamic leader and veteran educator and basketball coach. The guest artist for the weekend will be performer Jeff Smith of Salt & Light Ministries. RiSE, a BBC student worship band, will be the featured musical guest.
Details will be available at www.bbc.edu/lyfe later this year.
A Strong Impact
LYFE, which stands for Living Your Faith Everyday, is led by LYFE Director Diane Lytle. She is joined by a planning team that meets frequently throughout the year.
"It is hard to find words to describe hearing 900 women singing God's praises together," Lytle said. "What a blessing!"
The weekend conference helps many in attendance refocus and become encouraged and equipped as they return to their homes, families, and ministries. The special time also includes a delightful banquet.
"It is going to be difficult to top this year, but I'm sure the Lord has wonderful plans for us as we learn next year that 'simply living' for Him is enough," Lytle said.
Through profits from the LYFE store and other gifts, attendees help raise money for the LYFE Scholarship fund and build into the lives of BBC students. More than $26,000 in scholarship funds raised at the 2011 conference were awarded to students in April.
The LYFE Scholarship began at the request of attendees who wanted to show their appreciation to BBC. The funds assist women BBC students with a commitment to full-time career ministry.

"There is a great spirit here," said Lynda McKenzie of Hatfield, PA. "They really focus on the Word. And it is a lot of fun."
