RiSE team ready for rigorous summer schedule

RiSE, a special traveling worship team of BBC students, is preparing for a busy summer tour. The group will be in nine states, traveling to churches, schools, camps, and conferences.

The 10-member group is comprised of student singers and musicians. The team performs on campus and around the Northeast and Midwest throughout the year. They will begin summer break with a three-week tour in May.

The team's 2012 event schedule includes stops in Pennsylvania, New York, New Hampshire, Maine, New Jersey, and other states. They return to Clarks Summit, PA in July for BBC's Teen Leadership Conference.

Baptist Bible College & SeminaryPowerful Mission
The unique music team is directed by Geoff Ellsworth through the BBC Admissions Department. Traveling to schools, churches, and camps on behalf of BBC, the team leads worship and builds relationships with future students.

"We discover support and enrollment for Baptist Bible College & Seminary by serving the local church, building relationships, and sharing the work God is doing here," said Ellsworth, a BBC Admissions Counselor. "Spiritually, we aim to lead people in corporate praise and worship that realizes God's love through His Word and Jesus Christ."

Based on John 3:30, "He must increase and I must decrease," the name RiSE captures the team's purpose: To see the Name of Jesus lifted higher and rise above all other names.

Passionate Worship
RiSE works to create a powerful worship atmosphere and help people respond to the presence of God. The team encourages students to explore how BBC can assist and equip them for global Christian leadership.

"Worshiping God with the team, different churches, schools, and camps has been a huge blessing to me," said RiSE member Sydnee Wimberly, a junior Early Childhood Education major. "My favorite part of being on RiSE is seeing the impact on the lives of others and the changes that take place in the hearts of people we meet."

A heart for students and a love for praising God is evident in the team's attitude and service to the local church.
