Special Toledo area weekend set to build BBC&S connections

A special September BBC&S weekend in the Toledo/Detroit region includes a fun open house event at a baseball stadium, a seminar on stewardship, and a powerful golf fundraiser for student scholarships.

BBC&SA Saturday morning seminar at stewardship at Emanual Baptist Church in Toledo is joined by an open house for alumni, friends, future students, and parents at Fifth Third Ballpark on September 8.

A Monday President's Golf Classic on September 10 at The Legacy Golf Club in Ottawa Lake, MI, will raise money for area BBC&S students.

Details and registration information is online at www.bbc.edu/toledo. For questions, call 800.451.8668 or email advancement@bbc.edu.

Stewardship Seminar
Financial freedom comes from knowing the truth of scripture as it relates to proper stewardship of life and resources. It also allows for a wider role in building God's kingdom.

A special seminar led by BBC Foundation Executive Director Tom Bevan is set for 8:30 a.m. to noon at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Toledo. One-on-one assistance is also available.

The free seminar includes a continental breakfast.

Open House
An afternoon open house will be held at The Roost at Fifth Third Ballpark, home of the AAA Toledo Mud Hens. The event runs from 3 to 6 p.m.

Features include a complimentary buffet dinner, snacks, stadium tour, hourly prize giveaways, and scholarship vouchers. BBC&S President Jim Jeffery will offer a news update.

Jeff Totten, chaplain for the Detroit Tigers since 1991, will speak to the group. Jeff began SCORE Ministries after 20 years of pastoral experience. He coordinates HOME PLATE, an outreach event at Comerica Park in Detroit and minor league parks in Michigan and Ohio. He is a member of Woodside Bible Church in suburban Detroit.

Students applying to BBC or BBS at the event will pay no application fee. There is no fee for anyone to attend.

President's Golf Classic
The golf event will be held Monday at The Legacy Golf Club, a uniquely challenging, 200-acre course featuring five lakes and an island green. The day begins at 8 a.m.

Features include a gift for each golfer, a continental breakfast, and steak dinner. Prize drawings, including golf equipment, will be offered at the dinner.

Play follows a four-man or four-woman scramble format. Proceeds will benefit BBC&S students from Ohio and Michigan.

Early Bird registration applies until July 1, with special pricing for pastors. Business sponsorships are also available.

Details and registration information for both the Open House and the President's Golf Classic is online at www.bbc.edu/toledo.
