Volunteers Weeks a special time for campus, families

Adding and replacing sidewalks, painting exterior windows, and assistance at the new Kempton Athletic Center are among the many projects for volunteers this summer at BBC&S.

Two Volunteer Weeks are set to draw dedicated workers to campus. The mix of hands-on service with an inexpensive and fun vacation is an attractive option for many individuals and families. Volunteers enjoy making new friends, hearing special speakers, and reconnecting as they serve together.

The 2012 weeks are June 17-23 and July 8-14.

BBC&SSpecial Work
Several areas of need around campus are taken care of by volunteers each year. Some jobs involve specialized skills; others simply require a willing spirit.

The many dedicated workers come each summer to prepare the grounds for the upcoming school year, helping and encouraging the Maintenance Department.

Projects for this summer also include general maintenance needs and work to enhance the beauty of campus.

The cost is only $15 per person for meals for the entire week. Housing is free and childcare is available. Volunteers also have access to school facilities and activities.

Family Traditions
Among those who have made the week a tradition is the May family of Ira, VT. BBC&S alumni Eric and Ingrid have brought their five children for a family vacation of service, refreshment, and fun.
