Connections, comedy featured at October 'Celebration'

A night of fireworks and entertainment from 321 Improv Comedy cap the final night of BBC&S' "Celebration on the Summit," a special week-long event that includes alumni and homecoming events and the annual Bible Conference.

The event is set for October 3-8 on the Clarks Summit, PA, campus. Schedules, details, ticket information, and more are online at www.bbc.edu/celebration.

Last year's Celebration event packed the BBC&S campus. The 2011 lineup brings back popular features, such as fireworks and the Family Fun Run on Saturday morning.

Celebration on the Summit
Alumni Day -- Friday, October 7
The day includes some unique offerings, including visit from the 321 Improv Comedy. The group turns audience suggestions into hilarious scenes. The trio makes it a point to glorify God in all they do.

Tickets are $10 each in advance and available on the Celebration website. Tickets are $15 each at the door the night of the event.

The special day also includes recognition of Alumni Awards and Athletic Hall of Honor recognition, an Alumni Meet & Greet event, and ends with a large on-campus fireworks display.

Homecoming & Family Day -- Saturday, October 8
Saturday mixes the best of homecoming with reunions, connections, and more.

Activities include a three-mile Family Fun Run on the BBC course and the traditional tent setups, with student residence halls and organizations offering a mix of food and beverage tables.

Defenders and Lady Defenders soccer and volleyball games are also set, with special recognition of parents and presentation of the Homecoming Court featured.

Bible Conference -- Monday, October 3 to Friday, October 7
"The Greatest Preacher's Greatest Sermon" is the theme for this year's conference focusing on the Sermon on the Mount. Sessions run across the week at various times.

This special weeklong look into Jesus' words enables those in attendance to rediscover truths that can be applied to their life as they serve and lead others.

Featured speakers include Stephen Davey, Senior Pastor of Colonial Baptist Church in Cary, NC, and Don Shirk, Senior Pastor at Grace Baptist Church in Batavia, NY. They are joined by BBC&S President Jim Jeffery, and Vice President and Provost Dr. Jim Lytle.

Celebration on the Summit details are online at www.bbc.edu/celebration.
