Social Entrepreneurship focus of new graduate-degree program

Using the ideas and principles of entrepreneurship to organize, create, and manage new ministries and social-impact organizations is the focus of a new concentration in BBC's Master of Arts program.

The totally online Social Entrepreneurship program gives students new theological and functional knowledge to launch biblically based ventures or play a leadership role in an existing one.

Led by Dr. Akin Fadahunsi, a professor in BBC's growing Business Administration program, the graduate-level concentration enables students to:

- Advocate for global missionaries, especially in developing countries.
- Start a new for-profit or non-profit social impact venture.
- Lead or manage an established non-profit ministry or organization.
- Play a strategic advisory role in social impact program development in public or private sector organizations.
- Serve as an administrative or executive pastor in a medium to large church.

Special program, special opportunities
Unlike conventional entrepreneurship, which measures success primarily through investment returns, social enterprises place additional emphasis on social and environmental outcomes, such as literacy promotion, poverty alleviation, and regional economic development.

Students in BBC's program study the practice of social entrepreneurship through online courses, experiential learning internships and projects, skill-focused training opportunities, and intensive coaching in the professional competencies required of successful venture creators. They study the Bible with greater thoroughness and create solutions with new skills and abilities.

The 30 credit hour program can be completed in two years online. Details on classes, options, and pricing are online.

The flexible, affordable online Master of Arts offers concentrations in several areas, including Bible, Church/Ministry Education, Counseling, Intercultural Studies, Literature, Professional Writing, Organizational Leadership, Social Entrepreneurship, Urban Ministry, and Worldview Studies.
