Students, donors celebrated at BBC Awards Chapel

A special celebration of student achievement and the sacrificial giving of many generous supporters was held at BBC on April 15, with nearly 100 students honored.

Awards Chapel highlighted the performance and hard work of 98 students through the distribution of $85,270 in scholarship funds. A meet and greet area in the Huckaby Gymnasium was provided after the ceremony, allowing donors and students to connect.

Special Connection
Joy Grande, sponsor of the Jeffrey P. Grande Memorial Scholarship, was among those attending the special ceremony. The annual award is made in honor of Joy's husband.

“BBC has a very important ministry in the lives of young people, and in evangelism for the Lord," said Mrs. Grande. “It is very important to help in these difficult economic times so students are able to continue with their education and move into ministry."

Students are nominated for awards by professors and department heads. A financial aid committee reviews the nominees giving special consideration to those who display academic achievement, student involvement, and financial need.

More Awards Ahead
Special scholarship money is set aside for students who meet specific criteria designated by individual donors and groups.

A special awards chapel for Baptist Bible Seminary students will be held Friday, April 29.
