Campus Bookstore to close June 1

The BBC Campus Bookstore will cease retail operations on June 1.

The store has seen declining sales of books over the past several years, particularly textbooks, as more items have been purchased by students through online retailers and the delivery of educational materials has changed in some cases to electronic formats.

The decision to stop running a BBC-owned store follows a trend of colleges and universities increasingly outsourcing bookstore operations or relying on off-campus vendors.

Administrators are evaluating the best alternatives for students to buy textbooks and materials in the future, as well as options for the sale and placement of BBC&S logo merchandise, such as shirts and glassware.

The future use of the existing BBC Campus Bookstore building will also be reviewed. The Campus Bookstore is located near Venard Road and across from Ridley Hall.

Baptist Bible College & Seminary offers an outstanding Christian education through on-campus, online, and other distance learning options. Students go beyond the ordinary, learning to learn and serve with excellence as they gain critical leadership and life skills.
