Special Spring Concerts ahead in April

Beautiful melodies are being perfected by the BBC Music Department ahead of their annual Spring Concerts.

The three-concert series begins Friday, April 8, at 8 p.m. It is followed by two concerts on Saturday, April 9, at 3 p.m., and 8 p.m. The concerts will be held in BBC's Murphy Memorial Library, a venue offering unique acoustic qualities.

Tickets are $5 each and are on sale now. They may be purchased or reserved at the Music Department's Buckingham Hall office or by calling 570.585.9295.

Due to limited seating in the library, no tickets are available at the door.

Powerful Presentations
The concerts feature various choral pieces, instrumental and vocal solos and ensembles performed by members of the Concert Chorale, Chamber Singers, and One Accord.

Music pieces will vary and will include classical music, spirituals, a barbershop quartet, and everything in between.

The Chamber Singers, directed by Dr. David Harris, is a mixed group of 17 voices. One Accord, also under the direction of Dr. Harris, is a mixed quartet. The Concert Chorale, directed by Dr. Larry Kauffman, is a 40-voice choir.

Both groups include many musical styles but specialize in sacred music. Both the Concert Chorale and the Chamber Singers recently completed spring break tours in several states. The Concert Chorale was in New England churches and the Chamber Singers toured Southern states.

Several Music Career Options
