Teacher Recruitment Fair helps students, schools make connections

Education majors readying for teaching careers will make valuable connections with school administrators next month during BBC's annual Teacher Recruitment Fair in the Phelps Student Center.

The January 16-17 event is a great way for schools to find committed, qualified teachers. BBC prepares top job candidates through excellence in biblical higher education.

BBC offers many undergraduate and graduate options in teacher education. Undergraduate concentrations include Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Health and Physical Education, and Music Education. A master's degree in Christian School Education is also available.

Administrators can learn more and register to attend at www.bbc.edu/recruitment. For more details, contact Paula Best at 570.586.2400, extension. 1444, or pbest@bbc.edu.

Meals and refreshments are included. Early registration before December 14 is $50 for the first attendee and $30 for each additional person. After December 14, the cost is $60 for the first attendee and $40 for each additional person.

Special benefits
Schools gain special benefits by registering online ahead of the event.

Every school that sends at least one pre-registered representative to the event will receive a $1,000 grant for the 2011 summer session of BBC's graduate studies program for one of its faculty or staff members. Also, grants of up to $4,000 for a 2011 graduate enrolling full time at BBC in 2011 are available.

"The Teacher Recruitment Fair provided us an incredible chance to look at schools from across the country and find ones that would fit us perfectly," 'said Matt and Jess Lockwood, teachers now in the Abington Heights School District in PA.

"It facilitated opportunities to interview, ask questions, and even receive potential job offers. As young teachers, this BBC event aided us in our job searches as we had the opportunity to conveniently meet with countless administrators in one place."
