Unique fall conference prepares student leaders
More than 50 high school students and youth leaders from several states joined BBC students and faculty for the Growing Leaders Conference, a special event designed to equip and empower future global Christian leaders.
The 12th annual conference - carrying the theme "Do Not Feed the Sharks!" - was November 11-13 on the Clarks Summit, PA campus. Students learned ways to identify the "sharks" of life that damage and bring down leadership and positive influence, as well as methods to battle against them.

Keynote speaker Andy Giessman, Lead Pastor at New Life Baptist Church in Scranton, PA, showed students how to protect leadership integrity. Several sessions and workshops with faculty and students helped equip, challenge, and encourage these leaders of the future.
Jonathan Strayer, Conference Director and BBC's Director of Student Activities, said more application elements were added to this year's conference, enabling students to more readily practice what they learned.
"It was exciting to watch," he said. "I think it went extremely well."
The weekend also gave students an opportunity to experience college life at BBC. Students were able to attend college chapel and undergraduate classes, as well as stay in residence halls. BBC's annual Lip Sync gave attendees a chance to interact with college students.
