Seminary offers free class, campus visit opportunities

The key components of covenant theology will be the focus of a free class taught by Baptist Bible Seminary Dean Dr. Mike Stallard next month, a special opportunity for students who have never taken a seminary class before.

The free course will be offered on campus Tuesday-Friday, January 4-7, 2011. Learn more here.

"Spotlight on Issues in Theology: An Analysis of Covenant Theology" will detail important aspects of covenant theology, such as its hermeneutics, theological method, and structure. Areas of agreements with dispensationalism and disagreements with the viewpoint will also be highlighted.

Dispensationalism holds to historical-grammatical principles of interpreting the Bible, including prophecy. It interprets the text literally, taking into account all figures of speech, genres, symbols, and literary structures. Covenant theology differs from dispensationalism with respect to the distinction between Israel and the Church.

The class is a one-credit course and is free for pastors, missionaries, and others who have never taken a course at BBS before. Students may also take it as a regular paid credit.

It offers a unique opportunity for potential seminary students to experience a class and learn more about BBS. Time to visit the campus, meet professors, and learn about many financial aid opportunities are also available. Limited on-campus housing is available for $15 a night.
