Winter Concert features special performances by BBC students, staff
A longstanding Christmas tradition continues in December as students and faculty members perform in BBC's annual Winter Concert.
The December 10 and 11 concerts will include performances by the BBC Concert Chorale, the BBC Chamber Singers, and One Accord. There will also be several instrumental numbers, a piano duet, and a performance of the Sonata for Flute and Piano by Francis Poulenc.
The venue for the concert - The Murphy Memorial Library - offers unique architecture and acoustics, adding to the experience.
Performance times are Friday at 8 p.m., and Saturday at 3 p.m., and 8 p.m. A dessert reception for tickets holders will take place in the Jackson Hall Rotunda one hour before each performance.
Dessert and concert tickets are $10. They are available online at www.bbc.edu/winterconcert. No tickets will be sold at the door.
The Concert Chorale is a 46-voice choir directed by Dr. Larry Kauffman, Chair of Music Department. Dr. David Harris directs both Chamber Singers, a 16-voice ensemble, and One Accord, a mixed vocal quartet.
Among the combined chorale performances will be "Let All The World In Every Corner Sing" by Ralph Vaughan Williams and "On Christmas Night All Christians Sing," arranged by Howard Helvey. These will be accompanied by a piano duet.
