Jeff Hash was named 2010 Alumnus of the Year. Others recognized for outstanding service were Martin Eaton, Richard Blades, and Ken and Arlene Updyke. Those named to the Athletics Hall of Honor were Roger Jacobs, Mark Fitch, Carrie (Miller) Wagner, and the 1990 men's soccer team.

In the evening, a crowd approaching 1,100 enjoyed nationally recognized master illusionist Harris III and entertainers 321 Improv Comedy. The show, which lasted more than two hours, was followed by a 20-minute fireworks show that lit up the night sky.
"It was the best-attended event by our alumni in years," said Mark Steckiel, Executive Director of Alumni & Church Relations. "People are waiting with great anticipation for next year. We're already starting to plan for it."
Homecoming & Family Day
Grounds were packed with parents, families, and students on Saturday.
A Family Fun Run over the three-mile cross-country course started the day. It was followed by a special breakfast with President Jim Jeffery for parents and grandparents of students.
Reunions of the Class of 1960 and the Class of 2000 were also held.
Those in attendance walked through food and activities tents and visited. Students use the locations to raise money for residence halls and organizations.
Other events during the day included Defender soccer and volleyball games, which featured special recognition of parents during halftime festivities.
The annual Bible Conference "Rediscovering the Psalms for Prayer and Praise" kicked off celebration activities on October 4.
Focusing on rediscovering truths to apply to life, sessions and workshops ran all week. Some messages from the week are posted at www.bbc.edu/chapel.
Among the speakers were Doug Compton, pastor of Alpine Baptist Church in Comstock Park, MI, and Dr. Mark McGinniss, a BBS Associate Professor of Old Testament Languages, Literature, and Exegesis.
