Soccer, volleyball camps set for August

Baptist Bible College will host four more Big Blue and Defender sports camps this summer, giving young athletes focused time to improve athletic skills and sportsmanship while building spiritual character and leadership.

The weeks follow three successful basketball camps, where more than 350 students gained from daily instruction and coaching.

The camps feature BBC Defender team coaches and players as qualified instructors for the training.

Here's the remaining schedule:
Defender and Lady Defender Soccer Camps: August 1-6
Lady Defender Volleyball Camp: August 8-13
Big Blue Soccer Camp: August 9-13

Defender sports camps teach athletic, leadership skills
High school student athletes come for a week of intense training and fun while living on BBC campus, learning skills for the game, leadership, and life.

Defender Sports camps include:
- Chapel
- Group and individual skill instruction and competitions
- Goalkeeper training (soccer)
- Specific skill training
- "Time Out" personal time in God's Word

Defender and Lady Defender Soccer Camp, for students in grades 9-12, runs August 1-6 with coaches Chris Davis and John Jackson.

Lady Defender Volleyball Camp, for girls in grades 9-12, runs August 8-13 with Coach Dave Shumaker.

Coaches are encouraged to come with their campers. Guest speakers will discuss and demonstrate through on and off court instruction for the Coaching School aspect of each camp. One coach may attend free for every eight campers.

The fee for coaches is $65. All attending coaches must pre-register.

Big Blue day camp
Big Blue day camp provides great learning opportunities for area children through eighth grade.

Coaches John Jackson and Chris Davis instruct Big Blue Soccer Camps for elementary and junior high students. The camp runs August 9-13 and is open to students in grades K5-8.

The morning session is for student in grades K5-3. The afternoon session is open to students in grades 4-8. Lunch and snacks are available but not included.
